Welcome to Sonoma Valley Middle School Athletics!

Here you’ll find everything you need to join Sonoma Valley Middle School’s sports programs, from team schedules and key forms to insurance options and participation requirements. Basketball

Basketball

Girls Basketball - Girls Basketball begins at the start of the school year. Girls basketball has both 7th and 8th grade teams. The season games begin in September and end mid October.

Boys Basketball - Boys Basketball begins mid October. Boys Basketball has both 7th and 8th grade teams. The season games begin in November and end mid January.

  • Coaches: Billy David, Robert Livingston and Ethan Glago

 

Cross Country

Cross Country is open to all students in grades 6–8 who want to stay active, improve their fitness, and be part of a supportive team. No previous running experience is required. Athletes will develop endurance, strength, confidence, and goal-setting skills through practices that focus on pacing, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Throughout the season, runners will compete in meets against other schools while encouraging and supporting one another. Cross Country is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, make new friends, and build healthy habits in a fun and positive environment.

Soccer

Soccer - Soccer begins at the start of the school year. Soccer is a co-ed combined 7th and 8th grade team. The season games begin in September and end mid-October.

Volleyball

Girls Volleyball – Girls Volleyball is open to 7th and 8th grade students. The season begins in mid-October and runs through the end of January. Players develop fundamental volleyball skills, teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship while competing against other middle schools.

Wrestling

Wrestling - Wrestling begins mid-January. Wrestling is open to ALL grade levels and both boys and girls. The season meets begin at the end of January and ends with a league tournament that takes place at the beginning of March.

  • Coach: Joe Larbre, Colton Cramer and Nick Pappas.

Track

Track & Field – Track season begins at the end of February and is open to 7th- and 8th-grade students. Practices focus on developing speed, endurance, strength, and technique in running, jumping, and throwing events. Competitions begin at the end of March, with the league championship meet taking place in late April or early May. Track is a great opportunity for students to challenge themselves, build confidence, and represent their school while competing as part of a team.
